Experience the breathtaking nature of the Eifel at the 28th Rursee Marathon in Simmerath! This exciting running event will take place on November 8 and 9, 2025, and offers a variety of competitions for all types of runners and Nordic walkers. The Nordic Walk / Walk features a circular route around the Upper Lake of the Rur Dam and starts right at the entrance to Einruhr on Rurstraße. The course consists of 82% field and forest paths and 28% asphalt, with a total elevation gain of 160 meters.
Highlights
- The route of the Nordic Walk / Walk leads north through the village, along the shore of the Upper Lake, past the ruins of Jägersweiler to the Urft Dam.
- In addition to Nordic walking, a marathon of 42.20 km, a 16.5 km run, a 5 km run, and two kids' races of 600 m and 2 km are also offered.
- The Rursee Marathon has been a popular event since 1997 and is the second largest marathon in the Eifel after the Monschau Marathon.
